As a sorority parent, we have seen the tremendous benefits that Greek Life has brought to her college experience. We get to see the friendships she has made and ties of sisterhood every time we visit. Greek Life has allowed our daughter to develop leadership skills. Now, as the president of her sorority, she has learned how to manage a corporate budget, run effective meetings, delegate tasks, speak in public, and motivate action. All of these skills help in not just her university education but prepare her for the future. We have seen the benefits of giving back to the community when we attend her philanthropy event every year that gives money back to an important cause. Along with the many other positives, our daughter has been able to network with alumni, allowing her to find her first job when she graduates. We have enjoyed watching her personal growth, see her make lifetime friendships and all of the benefits that Greek Life has to offer. To any parent that is hesitant about allowing their child to join a sorority or fraternity, we hope our daughter's experience and our perspective can help ease your worries. Greek Life has made a tremendous impact on our daughter's life, and we know it can do the same for your child.

My son has been involved in philanthropic events, leadership experiences, networking experiences and overall a team spirit that gives us parents the comfort that he is being taken care of by his fellow brothers. As an international student living far away from the home, he found in the fraternity the touch of the family that was always shared in our household. We, as his parents, do strongly support it.”

Being a part of a sorority has truly been a special opportunity for my daughter at UCSB. Coming from out of state she quickly made a great group of friends and participated in many social activities. She has also had the opportunity to contribute to her community through philanthropic service. She has developed leadership skills through serving in leadership roles in her chapter house and through Panhellenic. And finally she takes pride in the scholarship of her sisters as academics remain a priority. Being part of a sorority as UCSB has been a rich and wonderful experience all the way around.
